Hardware setup recommendations

Lagersystem works in all common browsers, on Windows, Mac and Linux alike. To get the most out of our platform, we have some hardware recommendations that we know have been tested and work with the system. In some cases, our PDF layouts are directly optimized for a specific paper format.

Shipping labels

Paper: 102×192 mm

All shipping labels generated via Lagersystem are either optimized or tested for use with the 102×192 paper format.

Printer: Lagersystem Label Printer or Zebra GK420d

We recommend the thermal label printer from Zebra. However, any printer that can use a suitable paper format can be used.

If you don't have a label printer, we sell our own label printer at a really good price: https://lagersystem.dk/vare/labelprinter/

To be able to use Autoprint or popup-less printing, the paper format (102×192 mm) is a requirement.

Lagersystem only provides support/help/troubleshooting for the printer and paper listed above.

Barcode and location labels

Option 1:

Paper: Brother DK-22211 White Film tape 29mm x 15.24m

Lagersystem generates a PDF printout of labels optimized for the DK rolls listed above.

Printer: Brother QL-710 or QL-810

We recommend the Brother label printer models above, and can help with setup.

Our own label printer can also be used for barcode and location labels, if you use thermal labels of a suitable size (e.g. 30×90 mm): https://lagersystem.dk/vare/labelprinter/

Option 2

Paper: Thermal labels on a roll, permanent adhesive, 90 x 30 mm

Lagersystem generates a PDF printout of labels optimized for the rolls listed above.

Printer: Lagersystem Label Printer or Zebra GK420d

We recommend the thermal label printer from Zebra. However, any printer that can use a suitable paper format can be used, for example our own: https://lagersystem.dk/vare/labelprinter/

Lagersystem only provides support/help/troubleshooting for the printer and paper listed above.

Pick list printing

As a general rule, any A4 printer can be used. However, our experience shows that the larger laser models handle the task best in a warehouse with a lot of activity. If A4 printing with a built-in shipping label is used, the orientation of the paper in the printer can be critical. Here, larger models from Konica Minolta can be an advantage (e.g. Konica Minolta bizhub 4000i).

Handheld terminal

For handheld terminals, only the 1D and 2D Android models sold by Lagersystem can be used, as specialized driver code is required for hardware interfacing with the laser modules in the devices. This is essential for correct and fast barcode scanning.

Handheld scanner

If you want to use a regular USB barcode scanner at the warehouse computers, most USB or Bluetooth HID-enabled scanners can be used. We recommend Symbol handheld scanners. Alternatively, we also sell some cheaper models ourselves – ask your contact person.

Wireless network and Wi-Fi

It is absolutely essential for using Lagersystem in your warehouse that there is good Wi-Fi coverage throughout the entire work area with a reasonable internet speed.

If you want to set up Wi-Fi yourselves, we recommend products from Ubiquiti. Lagersystem does not help with Wi-Fi setup, but can refer you to IT consultants experienced with mesh or access point setup.

The handheld terminals can be used with a SIM card, but this is not recommended for daily operation. The handheld terminals only support 2.4 GHz wireless networks.
