Additional barcodes – create your own combinations
The "Additional barcodes" function is used to create extra barcodes for an item or for collections of items, and can be used for lots of smart things.
- Create an extra "replacement" barcode for an existing item
If your item's barcode is impossible to scan. If your supplier changes the barcode, so you temporarily need multiple barcodes to refer to the same item. - Create "case" barcodes, which group multiple items of the same type under the same barcode
If you often need to pick a larger quantity of an item and want to avoid scanning each one individually, you can create a barcode that, for example, applies to 5 units of an item. - Create "package" barcodes, which combine several different items in different quantities under the same barcode
If you often combine different items into a combined package, e.g. a fixed delivery, a product display, a gift box, gift basket, etc.

You can also create additional barcodes directly from your scanner!
If, in the middle of a picking or goods in task, you have an item type that is impossible to scan or has been given a different, temporary barcode, you can assign an alternative barcode directly from the scanner.
However, you should make sure this is in accordance with the procedures at your workplace.
From your item list (e.g. a picking list), you can tap the item to bring up a menu.
In the menu, select "Add barcode".
Then scan the alternative barcode when you encounter this window:
The item is now assigned the alternative barcode and can be scanned with both the new and the old barcode.
If you want to delete/edit the alternative barcode, this must be done via the computer.
