Automatic generation of shipping labels
Lagersystem can automatically generate shipping labels for you, if you prefer your shipping labels to be generated (and optionally printed) when you begin processing your order.
This can also be a practical feature if you want to automatically generate return labels that you, for example, include in the shipment.
If automatic generation of shipping labels is enabled, Lagersystem will automatically attempt to generate a label the moment we import the order into Lagersystem. However, errors can still occur if, for example, data is missing from the order, which prevents the carrier from generating a shipping label – in which case the shipping label will need to be generated manually.
How do I enable automatic generation of shipping labels?
To enable this feature, go to Setup -> Print setup and select the Auto label generation tab.
Here you can choose whether to generate a shipping label automatically. You can also choose to generate a return label, if, for example, you always send a return label along in the box.
Please note that a label is generated based on the data we receive from your webshop or backend system. It is therefore important that you have set up cargo mappers for all your delivery methods – otherwise you risk incorrect labels being generated.
If you want your labels printed automatically, you need to set up Lagersystem Autoprint.
Also note that some carriers invoice per shipping label generated, while others only invoice for the shipping labels that are actually used. Contact the carrier if you are in doubt.
