Lagersystem Autoprint – Setup

With Lagersystem Autoprint for Windows, you can automatically print order confirmations, shipping labels, and barcode labels from your Lagersystem. You can also use the program to print shipping labels from the handheld terminal or new goods receipts that are loaded into your Lagersystem.

If you want to read about installing Autoprint, there is a help article about this here.

The following sections are included in this help article:

Setting up Lagersystem Autoprint

Once Lagersystem Autoprint is installed, you can open it and begin the setup:

  • The tab indicates the name of the printer configuration. You can add more configurations using the plus sign, allowing you to run several Autoprint sessions at the same time. The color next to the name on the tab indicates the connection status. If it is red or orange, the connection needs to be checked. Clicking the cross on the right side of the tab lets you remove saved configurations.
  • Configuration name: Here you can enter a name for your configuration and click Save settings at the bottom to save the name.
  • Print station: Here you can select which print station you want to use. Note that these can only be loaded once you have entered the domain name and the API key. The button on the right loads the print stations that have been created in your Lagersystem.
  • Domain name: This is the domain for your Lagersystem. It is important that the domain is written in the following format: https+ws://(insert domain name).lagersystem.dk. You can conveniently go to the home page and copy your URL, then add +ws – if you want to generate shipping labels from the handheld scanner.

Example: https+ws://DinButiksNavn.lagersystem.dk

  • Scanner API Key: This should be filled in with the API key you find in Lagersystem. You can find the API key under Setup -> Handheld terminal setup -> Scanner API key.

Next, in the Lagersystem Autoprint program, you need to select which printers should be used to print the various types of print jobs. You can always select "None" if there are types you don't want to use.

  • Order printer: Here you select the printer for printing order confirmations and, if applicable, packing slips.
  • Goods receipt printer: Here you select the printer for printing goods receipts.
  • Label printer: Here you select the printer for printing shipping and return labels.
  • Barcode label printer: Here you select the printer for printing barcode labels.

Remember to save your settings by clicking Save settings. This saves all the information you have entered for the selected printer configuration, so it can be easily accessed the next time the program is opened.

Other settings in Lagersystem Autoprint with Windows

Autostart: Lagersystem Autoprint can open and start together with your computer, if you turn off your computer daily. To enable this, select File and click Autostart:

When this setting is enabled, Lagersystem Autoprint automatically starts and connects the next time you turn on the computer.

Language: Choose between Danish and English

Close button action: Autoprint must be open and connected in order to work. To avoid accidentally closing the program, you can configure the behavior of the Close button.

There are three options:

  • Ask every time shows a pop-up box that must be confirmed
  • Close the program closes Autoprint without further notice
  • Minimize to system tray does not close Autoprint, but hides it in the system tray so it is not visually apparent that it is open. If you try to open another instance of Autoprint, you will be notified that the program is already running.

What should Lagersystem Autoprint print?

You have several options for determining what should be printed automatically via Lagersystem Autoprint. This must be set up in your Lagersystem.

To change settings, go to Setup -> Print setup -> Autoprint.

In the Autoprint tab, you can change settings for what Lagersystem Autoprint should do. Below is a brief overview of the most important settings:

  1. Autoprint active: This function must be enabled in order to use the autoprint program.
  2. Autoprint order confirmation: This function means that order confirmations are automatically printed when an order comes into Lagersystem. These can be used to start picking for the order.
  3. Enable WS messages: This function makes it possible to generate labels from the handheld scanner – IF you have entered +ws in your domain name in the Autoprint program.
  4. Autoprint shipping label: You can enable automatic generation and printing of a shipping label. If you have enabled Autoprint shipping label, Lagersystem will automatically generate and print shipping labels together with the order confirmation. If you want to automatically generate shipping labels without printing them automatically, this can be done under the menu item Auto label generation.

You will also find more print settings, but the above are the most important settings for getting started with Autoprint.

Checklist – is everything working as it should?

To make sure you have set it up correctly, here is a checklist.

Print station: You should only use print stations if you want different printers connected to your handheld scanner. You can read more about print stations here.
Domain name: Check that the domain name is correct: https+ws://YourCompany*.lagersystem.dk*Scanner API key: Check that the Scanner API Key is correct.
Order printer: Make sure the correct printer for order confirmations and/or packing slips is selected (or none)
Goods receipt printer: Make sure the correct printer for goods receipts is selected (or none).
Label printer: Make sure the correct printer for shipping labels is selected (or none).
Barcode printer: Make sure the correct printer for barcodes is selected (or none).

You finish by clicking Save settings and then clicking "Start". If everything is set up correctly, you should see HTTPS turn green with the status Connected. If you have enabled WS, it will also be shown with a green status:

Warning about active print station

You can have several print stations, for example for different order types. However, it is important that each print station is only active in one place at a time. Therefore, you will get a warning if you try to set up an AutoPrint that is already active elsewhere.

If you connect anyway, you must enter your name and a reason for your choice. At the same time, be aware that having two active AutoPrint instances on the same print station means it becomes unpredictable where print jobs will come out.
