Print Stations
Optimize your picking process by creating multiple print stations and give your employees the ability to print package labels directly from the scanner at their own local print station. Note: you can connect a maximum of 5 different print stations.
Print stations are used when you have set up autoprint on your computer, but you want the ability to print labels from different printers.
If you haven't already set up autoprint, you can read how here:
The advantage of using print stations is that your employees can switch between them and print labels via their handheld terminals without having to use a computer. This makes for a much faster and paperless workflow.
Setup
First, you need to set up autoprint on your computers at the print stations.
See the guide for installing and setting up autoprint
Once you have set up autoprint on the computer, you need to log in to Lagersystem and create print stations.
How to Set Up Print Stations in Lagersystem
Log in to your Lagersystem site. Go to Setup and select Print Setup. Here you will find Print stations, where you can add and edit print stations.
Here you can add print stations. You add a print station using the "Add print station" button.
You need to determine which print station is your Master. This is the print station that has your default settings. Lagersystem will use the Master settings by default if your handheld terminal is not set up for a print station and you try to generate labels. It is also the one that determines the printers used for printing packing slips.
Remember that the settings for each print station must match the printer it is connected to in the Auto Print program.
Once you have defined your print stations using the autoprint setup (you can create up to 5 stations), you can switch between the print stations either by scanning a barcode for your different print stations or directly from your scanner.
How to Switch Print Station
Switch Print Station via Barcode
You can choose to print barcodes for your print stations, which you can place by your printers. From the handheld scanner, you can scan the barcode that corresponds to your print station.
Switch Print Station via Handheld Terminal
You can switch between your print stations from your handheld scanner.
From the home screen on your scanner, tap the menu in the top right corner:
Tap settings at the bottom of the menu:
Tap print station to switch to a different print station:
Select a different print station:
If you have set up automatic printing of package labels in the print setup in your Lagersystem, you can now print package labels on the print station your scanner is connected to.
