Multi-pick without using boxes – also for paperless order handling

If you prefer to use multi-pick in Lagersystem without using boxes, and you also use paperless order handling, follow this guide.

This guide is relevant for you if, for example, you want to pick all products for several orders at once, but simply want to pack them on a packing table with wheels, without splitting the orders into their own boxes. This method can also be used if you use paperless order handling (i.e., order handling without printing order confirmations or packing slips).

Setup

You still need to create one "box" that you can use in your multi-pick. You need this so that you have a barcode you can scan when you want to finish your picked orders, but also to tell Lagersystem where the orders are being packed.

  • In Lagersystem on the computer, select Setup -> Multi-pick setup.

  • Under the Boxes tab, tap Add box.

  • Give your box a name and a barcode. For example, you can write "Packing table 1" in both fields. You can just leave the size as default.

  • Next, find the box you just created and tap the edit icon next to it:

  • In the popup, check the box for Multi-orders and tap Save.

This setting means that the box can be used for more than one order at a time – exactly when picking items for many orders on one table.

Then print the barcode for the "box" you have created, and place it on the packing table. You print the barcode by tapping the barcode icon:

A printed barcode for use in multi-pick.

Now you have a packing table on wheels that has its own "box" for use in multi-pick. If you have several tables, create additional barcodes for them and print them.

Read on below to learn how to start multi-pick without using boxes.

Multi-pick without using boxes (also paperless)

Now that your picking table is ready, you need to assign the orders to the scanner you want to start the multi-pick from. If you are unsure how to assign orders, take a look at this article.

When you are ready to start a multi-pick, open the Assigned tab in the Lagersystem app and select the orders you want to pick.

When you are asked to scan boxes, scan the barcode you have created, and tap Start picking.

Now you simply pick all the products needed and place them on your table. You don't need to worry about grouping them into orders, since during the packing process you will be asked to scan the correct products per order again.

Once you have picked all the items, tap Finish multi-pick. Now all the orders you selected earlier have had their status changed to "Picked" and are ready to be packed.

Packing multi-pick orders without using boxes (also paperless)

If you have followed the guide above, you now have a packing table filled with items and one barcode. To start packing each order, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Lagersystem app and make sure you are on the Scan tab.

  2. Scan the barcode on the table (which is the "box" you scanned when you started the multi-pick).

  3. One order now opens, which is one of the orders you picked items for. Scan the items the scanner asks for, and pack them.

  4. Once you have scanned all the items for one order, you automatically proceed to the next step, where you complete the order. Print and scan the shipping label so the order is completed.

  5. To continue with the next order, simply scan the barcode on the table again (step 2), and the next order is processed. Continue until you have no more items on the table and there are no more orders when you scan the barcode.

After this, you can of course assign more orders to your scanner and start a new multi-pick. Enjoy!
